How Forepost verifies every PGA coach on the directory.
Anyone can call themselves a golf coach. Only a PGA of America member has cleared the bar — a multi-year apprenticeship, a written exam, a playing-ability test, and ongoing education. Forepost checks that bar when a coach applies, then re-checks every profile against the national roster on the first of every month. The badge you see on a profile today is current.
An active PGA of America membership, verified against the national roster, and re-checked every month.
Forepost treats the PGA credential as the floor, not the ceiling. Every published profile also carries transparent pricing, a real home course, and verified player reviews you can read before you book.
Three short steps, then a monthly re-check.
No mystery, no grey area — here is exactly what Forepost does between a coach submitting an application and their badge showing up on the directory.
You apply
You submit your PGA of America member number and the name on your national-roster record. This is the same number a PGA member uses at facilities, tournaments, and apprentice events.
We verify your credential
Forepost cross-checks your member number against the PGA of America public roster the day your application is reviewed. We confirm your name matches the roster record — no match, no profile.
We re-check every month
Every published profile is re-verified on the first of every month. If your PGA membership is active and in good standing, the verified badge stays. If it has lapsed, the badge disappears automatically.
What gets a coach rejected during application review.
Forepost leans toward stating the rejection criteria plainly so a coach who is likely to be rejected can self-identify before they apply — and so the rest of you can see what the gate looks like.
PGA number does not resolve
A member number that is not present on the PGA of America public roster on the day the application is reviewed.
Name does not match the roster
The name on the application does not match the name and member number on the national record.
Membership is expired or lapsed
The member record exists but is no longer active. The coach is welcome to re-apply once the membership renews.
Duplicate profile for the same coach
Two applicants claiming the same PGA number. Forepost keeps the first verified profile and rejects the second.
Coaching coverage not yet open in your city
A coach outside an active metro footprint — not a rejection, but a placement on the waitlist, re-evaluated when coverage expands.
The questions golfers ask about the badge.
Every profile on the directory carries the same monthly-verified PGA badge — pick a city and a coach, and the trust signal travels with you.
